Meie kooli hiina keele õpetaja eestvedamisel tähistati koolis veebruarikuu alguses Hiina kalendri järgi saabunud uut aastat. Õpetaja Jing Xu lühikest kokkuvõtet võib lugeda allpool.

Chinese New Year celebration event

5th of February is Chinese Lunar New Year. The Chinese New Year is now popularly known as the Spring Festival, because it starts from the Beginning of Spring. The Spring Festival is the most important festival for the Chinese people, all the family members get together, just like people at Christmas in the West. The Spring Festival falls on the 1st day of the 1st lunar month. Many customs accompany the Spring Festival.

The Chinese teacher JING XU invited all the teachers and students to come to the atrium to celebrate New Year. They made dumplings and calligraphy and spring paper cutting. A traditional dish is called “Jiǎozi饺子” (meaning dumplings). They wrote Chinese character “fú福” (meaning blessing or happiness and good luck).

The Oracle Character “福” means two hands put the alcohol jar on the table as a sacrifice for blessing and hope. They cut papers “chūn春” (meaning spring). The teachers and students experienced Chinese new year culture together.
